Preparation
- Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts.
- Sear the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until it’s golden brown and cooked through.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the chicken broth and sprinkle the gravy mix over it.
- Whisk together until blended and simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the gravy thickens.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, coating it in the gravy.
- Let it simmer together for another minute so the flavors meld beautifully.
Serving
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or your choice of side.
Notes
For substitutions, you can replace chicken breasts with thighs or turkey. Keep an eye on the gravy as it simmers; it thickens quickly. If you have leftovers, refrigerate them in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
