Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the rice according to package instructions — this usually takes about 20 minutes.
- Sauté the onion and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until soft and translucent (about 3–5 minutes).
- Add the ground beef or turkey to the skillet. Cook until browned, seasoning with salt, pepper, and your chosen herbs while browning.
- Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook until it begins to soften (about 5 minutes).
- Mix in the cooked rice and tomato sauce. Combine until the cabbage is thoroughly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish. Top with the shredded cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
