  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened, or use a Halal-friendly alternative.
  • 1 cup milk adds moisture and richness to the cake.
  • 2 large eggs helps with binding and flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for that lovely aroma (optional).

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until combined. Set aside!
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  5. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the milk and vanilla extract. Blend until all combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined—avoid overmixing.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Storing: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for about a week, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently for best results.
