Ingredients

For the brownie batter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted) Use high-quality butter for the best flavor.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure vanilla extract for better taste.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder Use unsweetened cocoa powder.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional) Fold in gently if using.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. If using chocolate chips, fold them in gently.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For the best results, use high-quality chocolate and don’t overbake. Experiment with flavors by adding vanilla or espresso powder.
