Preparation
- Season the chicken thighs lightly with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Stir it all together until well-blended.
- Place the seasoned chicken thighs in the crockpot. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the top, ensuring each piece of chicken is covered.
- Cut the butter into small cubes and scatter it over the chicken and sauce mixture.
Cooking
- Cover the crockpot and set it to low heat for about 6-7 hours or on high heat for around 3-4 hours.
- Check for doneness using a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Serving
- Once cooked, garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot alongside steamed rice or fresh greens.
Notes
For substitutions, you can use chicken breasts or tofu. If short on time, cook on high heat. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
