  • 2 large onions, sliced Uniform slices ensure even cooking.
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed French onion soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Ensure it’s Halal-compliant.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Generously season the roast.
  • Fresh thyme, optional for garnish

Preparation
  1. Begin by slicing your two large onions.
  2. Generously season the chuck roast with salt and pepper.
  3. Optional: Sear the roast in a hot skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side for added flavor.
  4. Place the sliced onions at the bottom of the crockpot.
  5. Set the seared roast on top of the onions.
  6. Pour the French onion soup and beef broth over the roast, followed by the Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Cover the crockpot and set it to low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-6 hours.
  8. Once cooked, let the pot roast rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve with a sprinkle of fresh thyme.

Notes

For alternatives, use brisket or round roast. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently to maintain texture and flavor.
