Preparation
- Begin by lightly toasting the 3 slices of bread until they are golden brown.
- Once toasted, generously spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread mayo-side up on a plate. Top it with a few lettuce leaves and sliced tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Layer the sliced turkey or chicken on top of the tomatoes, then add another slice of toasted bread, mayonnaise-side up.
- Repeat the stacking process with more lettuce, tomatoes, and meat on the second slice of bread.
- Finish with the last slice of toasted bread.
- Cut the finished sandwich into quarters and secure each section with a toothpick if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
Consider using different types of bread—sourdough or ciabatta can add an exciting twist. Feel free to add other fresh veggies like cucumbers or avocados for extra crunch.
