Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb salmon fillet, skinned and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch Can be substituted with arrowroot powder for gluten-free version.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup honey Reduce if less sweetness is preferred or substitute with sugar-free syrup.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying) Ensure oil is hot before frying for the crispiest bites.
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Toss the salmon pieces in the flour mixture until fully coated.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the coated salmon bites to the skillet in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  3. While the salmon is cooking, prepare the honey garlic sauce. In a saucepan over low heat, mix honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Stir until combined and heated, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Once the salmon bites are done, drizzle the honey garlic sauce over the top and toss to coat.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

For storing, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes or in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes. For longer storage, freeze uncooked salmon bites for up to 3 months and cook straight from frozen.
