Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Honey or maple syrup for a vegan option
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce use low-sodium if preferred
  • to taste Sesame seeds, for garnish optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water and trim the ends. Cut each one in half.
  3. Season the Sprouts: In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss until all sprouts are well coated.
Cooking
  1. Roast in the Oven: Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
  2. Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce: While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, heat a small pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Mix in the honey and soy sauce, stirring continuously until it thickens slightly (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Combine and Serve: Once the Brussels sprouts are done roasting, drizzle the honey garlic sauce over them and toss to coat evenly. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
