Preparation
- Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks in half to create shorter sticks.
- In one bowl, add the flour, in a second bowl, crack and whisk the eggs, and place the breadcrumbs in the third bowl.
Breading
- Coat each cheese stick in flour, then dip it in the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully covered, and roll it in the breadcrumbs.
- Press firmly to ensure a good coating and repeat this for all cheese sticks.
- Place the breaded cheese sticks in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add a few sticks at a time and fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.
- Remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes.
