Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Make sure they are properly thawed if frozen.
  • 1 cup buttermilk Or substitute with milk mixed with vinegar or lemon juice.
  • 1 cup flour For the coating.
  • 1 tablespoon dill weed Essential for flavoring the chicken.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.
  • 4 pieces sandwich buns For assembling the sandwiches.
  • as needed Lettuce, tomato, and pickles Fresh toppings for added flavor.
  • as needed Cooking oil For frying the chicken.

Method

Preparation
  1. Marinate the chicken by placing it in a bowl and covering with buttermilk. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, dill weed, salt, and pepper to create the coating for the chicken.
Cooking
  1. Pour cooking oil into a deep frying pan, enough to submerge the chicken halfway. Heat the oil over medium-high until hot but not smoking.
  2. Remove the marinated chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture.
  3. Carefully place coated chicken breasts into the hot oil. Fry for 6-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
Assembly
  1. Once cooked, drain chicken on a paper towel and toast sandwich buns lightly.
  2. Layer lettuce, fried chicken, sliced tomatoes, and pickles on the buns.
Serving
  1. Serve the Crispy Dill Chicken Sandwich hot and enjoy!
