  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For the Wrapping and Frying
  • 1 package Egg roll wrappers Typically found in the refrigerated section.
  • for frying amount Vegetable oil Enough to submerge the rolls.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up into smaller pieces as it cooks. Add the diced onion and cook until the onions are translucent.
  2. Stir in the garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. While the beef is still warm, mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.
Wrapping
  1. Carefully lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, and spoon about 2 tablespoons of the cheeseburger mixture onto the center.
  2. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly. Moisten the top corner with a little water to seal the roll.
Frying
  1. In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat enough vegetable oil to submerge the egg rolls over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Serving
  1. Let them cool slightly, then serve your crispy cheeseburger egg rolls with ketchup, mustard, or any of your favorite dipping sauces!

Notes

Tips: Don’t overfill the egg rolls to prevent bursting during frying. Optionally, for a healthier version, brush with oil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes.
