Preparation
- Drain the tofu and press it between two plates, weighted down, for about 15 minutes.
- Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes or triangles.
Cooking
- Sprinkle the cornstarch, salt, and pepper over the tofu pieces in a large bowl. Gently toss to coat each piece evenly.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the coated tofu pieces to the pan in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Pour the BBQ sauce over the tofu and toss gently to coat evenly. Cook for another minute or two to glaze the tofu.
Serving
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the tofu in BBQ sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a pan to maintain crispness.
