Preparation
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving some pasta water for later, and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the halal Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon or spatula as it cooks, for about 5-7 minutes.
- Once the sausage is cooked, stir in the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing gently to coat. If the sauce is too thick, you can add reserved pasta water a little at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Plate your creamy pasta and garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy your delightful meal!
Notes
For leftovers, store your Creamy Italian Sausage Pasta in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If you want to freeze it, the dish freezes well for up to 2 months. To reheat, thaw overnight in the fridge and warm gently on the stove, adding a splash of chicken broth or pasta water to help regain that creamy texture.
