Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, incorporating until smooth.
Baking
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
- Immediately sprinkle the cookies with red and green sugar sprinkles after removing from the oven.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for a few seconds.
