  • 1 pound ground beef (or Halal ground chicken) Use any preferred ground meat.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 pcs green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Ensure it's Halal.
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust according to your preference.
For Serving
  • Cooked rice For serving.
  • Vegetables (like broccoli or carrots) For serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about 2 tablespoons each, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked and browned.
  2. While the meatballs bake, cook your rice according to package directions and prepare vegetables by steaming or sautéing.
Assembly
  1. Assemble your bowl by scooping rice into each bowl, adding the vegetables, and topping with meatballs.
  2. Drizzle with remaining sauce from the baking sheet for extra flavor.
  3. Garnish with extra green onions or sesame seeds and serve.

Notes

Substitutions for ground beef include ground chicken or lamb. Ensure uniform meatball size for even cooking, and avoid overmixing the ingredients to prevent a dense texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for longer storage.
