Ingredients
  

Mushroom Coating
  • 500 grams Mushrooms (button or portobello), cleaned and sliced For large mushrooms, aim for about ¼-inch thick slices
  • 1 cup Flour Season with salt and pepper for flavor
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten until well mixed
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • enough to cover the mushrooms for frying Oil Use for deep frying

Preparation
  1. Clean and slice the mushrooms into desired sizes.
  2. Set up three shallow dishes: one with seasoned flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
Breading and Frying
  1. Dip each mushroom slice first into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
  2. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Fry the mushrooms in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  4. Remove fried mushrooms with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels while seasoning with salt.
Serving
  1. Pair the fried mushrooms with garlic sauce or your favorite dip and serve immediately.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, try using gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour. Maintaining oil temperature is key, so fry in small batches. Avoid breading ahead of time for best results. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheated in an oven or air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes.
