Preparation
- Begin by boiling the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, egg, dried Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Stir until fully blended.
Assembly
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, start layering. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom. Then, add three noodles, half of the cottage cheese mixture, one cup of mozzarella cheese, and a third of the marinara sauce.
- Repeat this process once more and finish with the remaining noodles, topping with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Serving
- Allow the lasagna to cool for about 10-15 minutes before slicing into it. This ensures better servings and keeps those layers intact.
Notes
Feel free to substitute cottage cheese with ricotta cheese or add sautéed vegetables like spinach or mushrooms between layers. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
