  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (preferably 80/20 for juiciness)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup ketchup (plus extra for glazing)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, and minced garlic.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix everything together gently; don’t overmix!
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf in the middle of a greased baking dish or a parchment-lined loaf pan.
  5. Spread a generous layer of ketchup on top for that classic glaze.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  2. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Leftover Classic Meatloaf can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To freeze, wrap individual slices tightly in plastic wrap and foil or store them in a freezer-safe container. It can last up to 3 months in the freezer!
