- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas and stir in the melted butter until combined.
- Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, and stir to combine.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing gently until just incorporated to avoid a dense loaf.
- Pour the batter into a lightly greased 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Choose the riper the bananas, the better! Add nuts or chocolate chips for extra flair. Store wrapped tightly at room temperature for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
