For the Filling
  • 2 Honeycrisp apples, sliced Can substitute with other apples like Granny Smith or Fuji.
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the Crust
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon butter, diced Scatter over apples before baking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced Honeycrisp apples, cinnamon, sugar, and lemon juice. Toss together until evenly coated.
  3. Roll out the pre-made pie crust on a lightly floured surface until about 12 inches in diameter. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Place the apple mixture in the center of the dough, leaving about two inches around the edge.
  5. Gently fold the edges of the dough over the apples, creating a rustic border.
  6. Beat the egg and brush it over the dough edges to create a golden color as it bakes.
  7. Scatter the diced butter pieces over the apples.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 to 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  2. Let the galette cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes.
