Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
For the cream cheese layer
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 12 oz container whipped topping, thawed Reserve half for topping
For the pudding layer
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 3.9 oz packages chocolate instant pudding mix
For garnishing
  • to taste fresh berries or chocolate shavings Optional for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers and melted butter. Mix until evenly moistened.
  3. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes, then allow it to cool completely.
Making the Layers
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gently fold in half of the thawed whipped topping until fully incorporated.
  3. Spread the cream cheese layer evenly over the cooled graham cracker crust.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the milk and chocolate pudding mix for about 2 minutes, until it slightly thickens.
  5. Pour this pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer, smoothing it out for an even top.
  6. Spread the remaining whipped topping over the chocolate pudding layer.
Setting the Dessert
  1. Garnish with fresh berries or chocolate shavings, if desired.
  2. Place the dessert in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours to set.

Notes

Your Chocolate Delight Dessert will store beautifully in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days. If freezing, wrap it tightly for up to a month. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
