  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs Beaten one at a time.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Fold in gently.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips gently.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is room temperature, and consider chilling the dough for richer flavor. Avoid overbaking for a gooey center.
