Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix (ensure it's halal-certified)
  • 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a healthier option)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a Mexican blend) Choose your favorite blend
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste pinch salt and pepper
Optional Toppings
  • to taste tablespoon chopped chives or green onions For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season them with salt and pepper on both sides.
Cooking
  1. In an oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and sear them for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. While the chicken is cooking, combine the sour cream and ranch dressing mix in a bowl until well mixed.
  3. Spread the ranch mixture evenly over the chicken in the skillet and sprinkle generously with shredded cheese.
  4. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  5. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chives or green onions if desired, then serve.

Notes

You can substitute chicken with halal-certified turkey or tofu for a vegetarian option. Ensure chicken breasts are evenly sized for consistent cooking, and don't skip searing the chicken to lock in moisture and flavor.
