Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onions until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Optionally add diced tomatoes.
- Spread the seasoned beef and onion mixture evenly in a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Arrange frozen tater tots over the cheese layer.
- Pour cream evenly over the tater tots.
Cooking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until tater tots are golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving. Add optional toppings as desired.
Notes
Ensure to drain grease properly from the beef to avoid sogginess. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat covered at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
