  • 1 pound ground beef (Halal) Ensure it's Halal-certified.
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella) Choose your favorite.
  • 2 cups frozen tater tots
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup cream Can substitute with non-dairy options.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Optional Toppings
  • chopped green onions For garnish.
  • pickles For garnish.
  • additional cheese For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onions until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Optionally add diced tomatoes.
  4. Spread the seasoned beef and onion mixture evenly in a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  5. Arrange frozen tater tots over the cheese layer.
  6. Pour cream evenly over the tater tots.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until tater tots are golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  2. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving. Add optional toppings as desired.

Notes

Ensure to drain grease properly from the beef to avoid sogginess. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat covered at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
