Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess grease, add the diced onion and sauté until softened.
Mixing and Assembling
- In a large bowl, mix together the cooked meat, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and half of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly. Top with tater tots, arranging them in a single layer across the top.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
- In the last 5 minutes of baking, sprinkle the remaining cheese over the tater tots. Return to the oven until cheese is melted.
Serving
- Let cool slightly before serving. Top with your favorite toppings to add a personal touch!
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. It can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
