Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 slices slices of bread (preferably day-old) Use a hearty bread like challah or brioche for best texture.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce Plus extra for drizzling on top.
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped You can substitute with other fruits like pears or blueberries.
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Butter for greasing For greasing the baking dish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure your dish bakes evenly.
  2. Cut your slices of bread into cubes. If your bread is fresh, consider letting it sit out for a bit to become slightly stale.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, caramel sauce, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add the bread cubes and chopped apples to the egg mixture, gently folding until the bread is thoroughly coated.
  5. Using butter, grease a 9x13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking, then pour the bread mixture into the dish, spreading it out evenly.
Baking
  1. Place your dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
Serving
  1. Allow it to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce and top with your favorite accompaniments.
