Preparation
- Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. This helps achieve a crispier exterior when cooked.
- Season both sides generously with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Gently place the seasoned salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down if applicable. Cook for 4-5 minutes without moving them.
- Once the first side is cooked, flip the salmon fillets over carefully. Drizzle honey over the tops of the fillets.
- Continue to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.
- Remove the salmon from the skillet and serve hot with a garnish of lemon wedges and perhaps a sprinkle of fresh herbs.
Notes
For a milder flavor, substitute Cajun seasoning with a mix of paprika and cayenne pepper. Ensure not to overcrowd the skillet to prevent steaming the salmon. Avoid overcooking; it should flake easily but remain moist. If storing leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. Reheat gently to maintain texture.
