Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Optionally, pound them slightly for even cooking.
Making the Sauce
- In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and olive oil. Stir until well combined.
Cooking the Chicken
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil, then place the chicken breasts in the skillet and sear for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Pour the prepared brown sugar garlic sauce over the chicken. Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens. Whisk in cornstarch mixed with a little water for a thicker sauce if desired.
Serving
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of broth or microwave until warm.
