Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a muffin tin by greasing it or lining it with paper liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until blended smoothly.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredient bowl. Gently fold them together until just combined (do not overmix).
- Carefully fold in the blueberries, ensuring they are evenly distributed without breaking them.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, softened butter, and cinnamon for the streusel topping. Mix with a fork or your fingers until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Spoon the muffin batter into each prepared muffin cup and sprinkle the streusel topping generously over each one.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, allow the muffins to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use fresh blueberries for the best flavor. Don't overmix the batter to ensure light and fluffy muffins. You can substitute some all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for extra nutrition. For serving, enjoy warm and store in an airtight container.
