Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
- In a mixing bowl, gently combine the blackberries and half of the sugar (1/2 cup). Let them sit for about 10 minutes to release their juices.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the milk and melted butter, stirring until just combined.
Assembling and Baking
- In a greased baking dish (9 x 13 inches), pour the batter evenly over the bottom. Spoon the blackberry mixture over the batter; do not stir!
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown and bubbling.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Pair it with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the ultimate treat!
