Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts, cubed Use thighs for a richer flavor or tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper Adjust to taste for spiciness.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Can use low-sodium soy sauce if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Use other oils suitable for high heat if preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced Fresh minced garlic is recommended.
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced Fresh ginger enhances flavor.
  • to taste Salt Add as preferred.
  • to taste Chopped green onions for garnish Adds freshness and color.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing and cubing the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine cubed chicken with soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, salt, and half of the black pepper. Let this marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet in a single layer. Let it sear undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes until it’s golden brown on one side.
  3. Once the first side is golden, sprinkle the remaining black pepper over the chicken and stir it to cook evenly on all sides. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle chopped green onions over the chicken and serve it hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat gently to retain tenderness.
