Ingredients
  

Meat Mixture
  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef Choose your preferred meat.
  • 1 cup beef broth Can use low-sodium broth.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Halal-friendly version available.
Vegetables
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
Topping
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes Creamy, fluffy mashed potatoes.
Seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For cooking the meat.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Chop the onions, dice the carrots, and mince the garlic. Set aside.
Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground lamb or beef, seasoning with salt and pepper. Brown for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked.
Adding Vegetables
  1. Toss in the chopped onions, carrots, and minced garlic. Sauté for another 5 minutes until vegetables are tender.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. Add the frozen peas, tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture. Stir everything together and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
Assembling the Pie
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a baking dish, pour the meat and vegetable mixture, then spread the mashed potatoes evenly on top.
Baking
  1. Place in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
Serving
  1. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with your loved ones!

Notes

For a lighter option, consider using ground turkey or chicken instead of lamb or beef. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
