Preparation
- Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into thin rounds (about ¼ inch thick) for even frying.
- In a bowl, combine granulated sugar with the ground cinnamon.
- Drizzle lemon juice over the banana slices and toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
Cooking
- In a deep frying pan, heat enough vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches around 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add banana slices to the hot oil, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the chips using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
- While still warm, sprinkle any remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the chips.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Enjoy fresh! Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-5 days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 10 minutes to restore crunchiness.
