Ingredients

For the cream cheese filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the rolls
  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • 1 count egg (for egg wash) Beaten, for brushing on the rolls
  • optional amount more powdered sugar for dusting Optional for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, mixed berries, and vanilla extract. Stir until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough on a clean surface and separate it into triangles as indicated on the package.
  4. Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture onto the wider end of each crescent triangle.
  5. Starting from the wide end, roll the triangles towards the point to create crescent shapes, tucking in the filling as you go.
Baking
  1. Place the rolled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of each roll for a golden color.
  3. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
Serving
  1. Once baked, let them cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Substitutions: You can use Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese for a healthier option. Timing matters: Avoid overbaking to prevent drying out. Common mistakes: Do not overfill to avoid bursting during baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month.
