Preparation
- Start by gathering all your ingredients. Chop the onion and mince the garlic so you have everything ready to go.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the beef tips. Sear them for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are nicely browned on all sides.
- After browning the beef, add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Gradually pour in the beef broth, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 15 minutes, allowing the beef to tenderize and the flavors to meld beautifully.
- Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve the beef tips and gravy hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or even fresh bread.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat on the stovetop over low heat and add a splash of broth if needed.
