Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour, stirring for about 1-2 minutes until it forms a paste.
- Gradually add the milk while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, salt, pepper, and paprika. Continue to stir until the cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
- Combine the pasta and cheese sauce, mixing until well combined.
- Transfer to a greased 2-quart baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top of the macaroni and cheese.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider mixing garlic powder or herbs into the breadcrumbs. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-5 days.
