Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh carrots, peeled and cut into sticks
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar Can substitute with honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or any Halal-friendly oil)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
Optional Garnish
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel and cut the carrots into uniform sticks, about 2 inches long.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the carrot sticks, olive oil, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until well coated.
Baking
  1. Spread the glazed carrots out on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer.
  2. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are tender and caramelized.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet; a single layer helps caramelization. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for a month.
