  • 4 slices whole-grain or sourdough bread Toast until golden brown.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice To prevent browning of avocado.

  • to taste chili flakes Optional for a bit of heat.

Preparation
  1. Start by toasting your slices of whole-grain or sourdough bread until they are golden brown and crispy.
  2. While the bread is toasting, cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  3. Add lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the avocado and mash it with a fork until you reach your desired level of smoothness.
Assembly
  1. Once your bread is toasted, generously spread the mashed avocado on top of each slice.
  2. Sprinkle chili flakes on top for a bit of heat, and layer on any optional toppings like diced tomatoes, radishes, or feta cheese.
  3. Finish off by garnishing with fresh herbs.

Notes

To prevent browning of the avocado mixture, squeeze extra lemon juice into the mash and store it in an airtight container. Best enjoyed fresh!
