Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted Alternatively, use coconut or vegetable oil.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a donut pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, apple cider, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until fully combined.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  6. Using a piping bag or a spoon, carefully fill each donut cavity about 3/4 full.
Baking
  1. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow donuts to cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
  3. Once cooled, roll them in cinnamon sugar or drizzle with icing, if desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to one month. To reheat, microwave for 10-15 seconds or warm in the oven.
