Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a donut pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter, apple cider, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until fully combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Using a piping bag or a spoon, carefully fill each donut cavity about 3/4 full.
Baking
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow donuts to cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, roll them in cinnamon sugar or drizzle with icing, if desired.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to one month. To reheat, microwave for 10-15 seconds or warm in the oven.
