Ingredients
  

For the Hamburger Steaks
  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.
For the Gravy
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Can be homemade if preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Use a non-alcohol version if desired.
For Garnish
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional) Adds flavor and color to the dish.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onions, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Shape the beef mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the hamburger steaks for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
Cooking
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  2. In a baking dish, arrange the seared patties in a single layer and pour the gravy mixture over the top.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the patties are cooked through.
  4. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, don't rush the browning of the hamburger steaks to enhance flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for up to three months.
