Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting or a glaze (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well to combine all the dry ingredients.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!
  5. Fold in the diced apples gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Once cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar or drizzle your favorite glaze for an extra sweet touch!

Notes

For the best flavor, choose sweet, firm apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for a week.
