Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 slices slices of bread (your choice, preferably whole grain or white)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened) Essential for a golden, crispy exterior.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite mix) Feel free to experiment with different cheeses.
Optional Toppings
  • slices of tomato Add for extra flavor.
  • fresh basil Add for a fresh touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Spread the softened unsalted butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place two slices of bread butter-side down on a clean surface. Evenly distribute the shredded cheese over these slices.
  3. If you're feeling adventurous, add any of your chosen toppings, like tomato slices or fresh basil, right on top of the cheese layer.
  4. Place the remaining two slices of bread on top of the cheese and toppings, butter-side up.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Carefully place the sandwiches in the air fryer basket.
  3. Cook for about 5 minutes, checking halfway through and flipping if aiming for a golden crispy finish.
  4. Once the time's up, remove the sandwiches and slice them in half. Serve immediately.

Notes

For perfect grilled cheese, don't overcrowd the air fryer, and keep an eye on the timing, as every air fryer is different. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, and reheat at 350°F for about 3-4 minutes.
