Preparation
- Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips and toss with cornstarch in a bowl.
Cooking
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the beef in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Lower the heat to medium and add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the same skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring until sugar dissolves and sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked beef back to the skillet, tossing to coat thoroughly, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
For a complete meal, pair with fried rice or steamed broccoli. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat gently on the stovetop or microwave in short intervals.
